Accessibility Matters Consultancy (AMC) is a consulting firm founded in 2022 by a development specialist and architect, expert in Universal Design, Accessibility and Disability Inclusion in international development and emergency projects.
We firmly believe that every intervention, including development and emergency programs, in order to be sustainable and just need to take into account the needs of everyone since the beginning, not leaving anybody behind, including persons with disabilities. And accessibility is a key condition for disability inclusion to be effective, in every domain.
Clients of AMC have been: UN agencies in Tanzania through UNDP, the World Bank, international infrastructure company Eptisa, INGO Humanity & Inclusion, the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association, DODS Training and UNICEF.
Since its creation, AMC services has provided its clients with a wide variety of services, including: assessing the present level of accessibility and inclusion of an organization or a project; delivering trainings and sensitization sessions to staff members and partners; revising documents through the lens of disability inclusion and accessibility; supporting in the definition of disability-inclusion focused action plans; performing web accessibility audits; or developing guidance documents on disability inclusion and accessibility.
Accessibility is a right for persons with disabilities, an obligation for States, a requirement in every sector (infrastructure, mobility, communication or ICT, but also health, education, social protection, etc.) and in every context, no matter the level of income of a country, the duration of a project or the available budget.
